In early June, Delta Streets Academy offered its first Summer Sports Camp to the community of Greenwood! For three days, around 40 rising 4th-6th graders learned about basketball, football, and God's Word with lunch and dinner provided - all for FREE!
Head Soccer Coach Connor Altman helped organize the week: "I think that this camp showed the love that Delta Streets has for the city of Greenwood. We are a school that welcomes any and all, and will help anyone that shows up to become a virtuous man of Christ!"
Altman continued, "One of the things that I enjoyed the most was watching the kids who may not be as athletically inclined find things to enjoy. They were able to learn more about sports, and find ways they could contribute to their teams during the week!"
 Several DSA student-athletes volunteered their time and expertise. Rising Junior Daniel Crain said, "The camp helped the young kids who didn’t know how to play, learn something new. And the kids who knew how to play, they learned a lot more techniques. They got to see how we treat kids - we love them and try our best to get them into DSA and teach how men should act and love and learn about Christ."
We pray this week showed potential students Mark 12:30-31: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength... and love your neighbor as yourself."
